Bij de lancering in 1992, was een eerbetoon aan de Zweedse oorsprong van ABSOLUT. Oorspronkelijk dacht Absolut Vinbar te hebben genoemd als het Zweedse woord voor zwarte bessen is Vinbar. Dit werd niet gedaan omdat in het Engels klonk als "Wijnbar". Absolut Kurant wordt uitsluitend uit natuurlijke ingredinten gemaakt, en in
